I wOn A tWiLiGhT ConTeSt!!!

Here are the sad students...

Here are the Happy Students!

So I got an email on Wednesday about a contest that Barnes and Noble was having for the upcoming movie Twilight. They wanted us teachers to tell our students that they will be giving tickets to the pre-screening of the movie on Tuesday, which is tomorrow, to the person who can write the best essay about why they are the biggest Twilight fan. I read it to all to my students. There are a lot of students, mainly boys, who are so anti-Twilight. I decided to take advantage of their hatred, lol. I made a little wager with my students that if I entered the contest and won then all those who have been dogging the books will HAVE to read them. They were so gung-hoe about it! Especially my 3rd period. Well today DURING THIRD PERIOD I get a phone call in my room and it is Barnes and Noble and they said I won the contest! I couldn't stop laughing. I told my students and they started freaking out. I was still on the phone with B&N and they were laughing hysterically. So all of them headed to the library after class to grab Twilight with frowns on their faces. They will thank me someday. Bryce just went and picked up the tickets and I guess there is a whole package of stuff from posters to shirts to trading cards, lol and more. I am excited and my students are not hahahaa

Giselle, my NEW car!

Yay for my new car!!!! It is a 2009 Toyota Corolla and it is amazing! It drives so smoothly! When I am at stop lights, it is so smooth and quiet that sometimes I wonder if I stalled and my car is off lol. It looks like me, right? Well besides the fact that I have no tan and am way white, it looks like a car that I would drive. LOVE IT!

Going to the George!

So Bryce's family and I went down to St. George for Fall Break/UEA weekend. It was so great and I am grateful for Bryce's parents for paying for a lot of it. They are amazing people. I just had to tell you a couple things that happened whilst down there. First off, Bryce and I had to stop in Washington City, which is like five minutes north of St. George, to get medicine and oh boy was it funny! BEFORE we even get inside the building we see polygamists! They are like straight out of an old-fashioned church movie. The clothes they wear, the way their bangs swoop just right, it's a sight to see. Well those were just the beginning because once we got inside we were bombarded by them. I walked into the restroom to find 8 of them in there! I went "Uh" ON ACCIDENT! and it was awkward and I just slowly glided through them and into a stall. But don't you worry, we saw more after that! I felt the children looking at me with a longingness to be normal. I know that might sound mean, but I really felt bad for them. It is just a crazy world that we live in.

Then later we went to the outlet malls. We saw this really good bakery called like "Vior" or something like that, and we decided to grab lunch there. Bryce got a salad and I got a sandwich. Right as I was finishing my sandwich I hear Bryce go "What in the world?" A HUGE COCKROACH CRAWLED OUT OF HIS SALAD AND ONTO THE TABLE!!!!!!! We were dying! It was the sickest thing ever! Never go there people! I couldn't believe I just ate a whole sandwich that was probably infested with cockroach poop!

It really was such a nice and relaxing trip though. We went to Touacan (spelling?) and saw "big River" which is a version of Huck Finn. So great!

The Witch's Ball at Gardener Village

A very Creepy Manthing lol

We thought they looked like eggs......lol

This was a really cool prop; it was a witch just pedaling away in the air

This is what Megan and I did all throughout high school.....Act like you are by yourself and smile and be weird...yep us in a nutshell.

What a scary witch!!!

My cute husband, just out of the shower and ready to play XBox while I go make potions

My friends and I all got dressed up and went to a place called "Gardener's Village". There was a witch's ball thing going on and it was such a riot. We were laughing so hard. There were 11 of us and we were all totally decked out in witch apparel. It was so awesome being with all my friends. It's weird once you graduate high school because the people whom you saw EVERY DAY you never see them anymore. Life changes and I love my life, but it was so great to be with my friends again. I have such amazing friends.

Michael, my companion, my trustworthy mate, my best friend....

I sold my car yesterday. He wasn't just a car, he was my companion. I have had this car since I was 16 years old. 'Sniff sniff' I feel lost. This car went through high school with me, through college, and through the beginning months of my marriage. I know this sounds dumb, but I really didn't want to let it go. It was in perfect condition, but it's time for Catalina to get a new car. I promised myself I would get a new car once I graduated college and I have put it off long enough. His name, Michael, came from the fact that he used to be black, until my daddy painted him white lol. You wouldn't believe it if I told you all that happened with this car. So many great memories! I will post a picture of my new car soon. Sigh...goodbye Michael.

Our Poor Dog, the Barbie DAHL

I can't help but dress Allie up sometimes. I always hated when people dressed up their dogs, but sometimes it is so funny! We found this bumble bee costume at Target for 10 dollars and we had to buy it. We also found a pink coat in the dollar section at Target as well. She loves them! We thought they would be a waste of money, but she really loves to play in them!

Maddie and Allie, best-friend-cousin-dogs from the best-friend-cousins!

We had a family get-together at a park in Orem. Courtney brought her dog, Maddie, and I brought Allie and boy did they love each other! It was so funny! Allie loves to play 24/7 and we finally found a dog that likes to do the same! I don't think they stopped the entire time!

Whenever we go somewhere, and we get out the kennel, Allie freaks out! She knows that means that we are going somewhere, and she barks, and scratches, and whines at the kennel until we let her in. So Funny!

What do you think?

A couple nights ago, Cait was trying to go to sleep while I stayed up reading for a little while. After 20 minutes or so of silence from her, she asks, "Honey? Does Charlie Brown have a nightlight?" I started laughing and said, "Excuse me?" That woke her up and asked why I said that. I told her what happened and she didn't remember any of it. So I leave the question up to you, our loyal readers. Does Charlie Brown have a nightlight? Please vote.

Park City

A couple weeks ago, we spent a spur-of-the-moment weekend in Park City with Caitlyn's family. Her uncle John has a time share there and invited everyone to stay over. We only stayed Friday and Saturday, but it was very relaxing and fun to spend time with Cait's family.

Friday night we ate at Baja Cantina at the base of the Park City Resort, and later that night we played games with everyone until we were too tired to continue.

The next morning, we went shopping at the outlet mall.

There were some girls selling puppies at the outlet mall and Caitlyn begged me to get another dog. You'd think that she wouldn't want another puppy after her post about Allie destroying things while left alone, wouldn't you? The cocker spaniels were pretty cute, though.

After shopping, we went to Olympic Park. Cait, Cathy and I went down the zip line. Everyone else waited for us at the bottom. As you can see, I lead the race the entire way, until Caitlyn caught up somehow and beat us to the bottom.

After the zip line, we went to where they practice aerial skiing. I'm the one in the red pants.

My Turn

Here I am. It's Bryce. Finally bloggin'. I wanted my first post to be monumental in its hilarity, but the inspiration isn't flowing. So you get a mediocre update on what's been going on with us. Please to enjoy:

First off, I'm not gay. I'm married, remember? To a girl. There have been some times in my life when people have questioned my sexual preference. When I didn't get married before my two younger brothers and I'd bring my friend Dave (strictly platonic) to family parties instead of girls I was dating at the time, questions were raised. When I worked at the Olive Garden and wouldn't hit on any of the trashy girls I worked with, some people assumed I was gay because I didn't hit on them and because I "took care of my appearance."

Which brings me to what has been occupying my time lately: The Twilight Series. Yeah, I'm reading those books.....so what? Yeah, they're adolescent romance novels....so what? That doesn't change the fact that they're entertaining, well-written books.

They really are good. I must admit, I was a little skeptical when Cait tried getting me to read them. She promised me lots of vampire and werewolf fights, so I decided to give them a try. The first book and half of the second book were bo-ring. I won't spoil the plot for anyone who hasn't read them, but be warned: if you're planning on starting the series be ready for LOTS of descriptions of Edward's beauty and LOTS of deciding if he's too dangerous for her or not. Once you get through all that, it gets pretty good. From the middle of the second book to where I am now, at the end of Eclipse, it's quite interesting and captivating. I'm not done yet, so it may start to go downhill, but as of right now, I'm hooked. And for those of you who have read them, I'm totally Team Jacob, which breaks my wife's heart.

My Classroom!

My cute fridge

I have to have a picture of my precious husband AND a candy jar!

Yay for school! I started teaching 7th grade English on the 14th of August. I love it so far. I had a really good time decorating my portion of my classroom! I didn't want to put dumb little things all over the walls to take up space, so I went with my mom and Bryce to Walmart and got fabrics to cover on the walls. I got zebra print, crazy I know, pink with black polka dots, and plain black. I then got a cute jazz poster and posted "#1 Jazz Fan" above it. I put up a cute calender and bulletins as well. Fun!

Precious Allie got Spayed

Our sweet little girl got spayed. She is normally so hyper and silly. Well, she was so out of it!! It was like unreal! We were laughing so hard. She would fall asleep sitting up. She was so precious. She was so freezing and so we put my robe on her and she would crawl under it completely. So sad, but so cute. Don't worry, she was back to normal by morning.

VeGaS!!!!!

My precious husband

Okay this is at the Coca Cola Factory. You can do a taste test of coke drinks from all around the world. Holy cow they were like all so disgusting!!! I couldn't believe people drank this stuff in the world!!! I will never do that again, but it was so interesting and fun to try!

Getting ready to try them

After I tried one haha

Megan and Me

Standing under the lions at the MGM

Bryce and I wanted to go on a vacation right before the school year started. We ended up going to Vegas with Bryce's brother and sister-in-law, Megan. It was very fun! Vegas is always so much fun. I love how much goes on 24/7!
