My Turn

Here I am. It's Bryce. Finally bloggin'. I wanted my first post to be monumental in its hilarity, but the inspiration isn't flowing. So you get a mediocre update on what's been going on with us. Please to enjoy:

First off, I'm not gay. I'm married, remember? To a girl. There have been some times in my life when people have questioned my sexual preference. When I didn't get married before my two younger brothers and I'd bring my friend Dave (strictly platonic) to family parties instead of girls I was dating at the time, questions were raised. When I worked at the Olive Garden and wouldn't hit on any of the trashy girls I worked with, some people assumed I was gay because I didn't hit on them and because I "took care of my appearance."

Which brings me to what has been occupying my time lately: The Twilight Series. Yeah, I'm reading those books.....so what? Yeah, they're adolescent romance novels....so what? That doesn't change the fact that they're entertaining, well-written books.

They really are good. I must admit, I was a little skeptical when Cait tried getting me to read them. She promised me lots of vampire and werewolf fights, so I decided to give them a try. The first book and half of the second book were bo-ring. I won't spoil the plot for anyone who hasn't read them, but be warned: if you're planning on starting the series be ready for LOTS of descriptions of Edward's beauty and LOTS of deciding if he's too dangerous for her or not. Once you get through all that, it gets pretty good. From the middle of the second book to where I am now, at the end of Eclipse, it's quite interesting and captivating. I'm not done yet, so it may start to go downhill, but as of right now, I'm hooked. And for those of you who have read them, I'm totally Team Jacob, which breaks my wife's heart.

Oh Bryce you are totally Gay! ha ha ha I am trying to convince Tyler (your cousin) he should try reading them.. I have not suceeded because well he thinks that is a gay idea. Maybe if i tell him his not so gay cousin is doing it he might fall to peer pressure ;)

You're definitely primed to tune a meat whistle reading books like that. Although the last time I called one of your hobbies gay, WoW, I ended up getting hooked as well. Not a chance in h#!! I'll read those chic books though. Enjoy, fairy.

Bryce, I am not sure how I found your blog, but your little family is too cute. And you aren't gay. I got Casey to read those books when we were in Europe last year. I read the second one while we were in Italy, while the story line was in Italy. I agree with you on the entertaining, but not on the well written. I thought they were all a little anticlimactic.
